Reading is one ont color="#FF0000">ofont> important skills in learning English because reading does not only read ont color="#FF0000">theont> text without knowing ont color="#FF0000">theont> meaning and what actually ont color="#FF0000">theont> writer says, but it is for informing ont color="#FF0000">theont> reader something by ont color="#FF0000">theont> text. Some learners get difficulty in learning reading comprehension. Moreover for students in Indonesia, English as foreign language has some aspects in learning it. So, it can be mastered by appropriate method. One ont color="#FF0000">ofont> ont color="#FF0000">theont>m is ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont> method. ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont> can be one ont color="#FF0000">ofont> methods in learning reading comprehension. Based on some previous studies, ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont> was only for teaching female students. So that, ont color="#FF0000">theont> researcher wants to research ont color="#FF0000">Theont> ont color="#FF0000">Effectont> ont color="#FF0000">ofont> ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont> on Reading Comprehension ont color="#FF0000">ofont> Male Students.
This study was Experimental Research. ont color="#FF0000">Theont> main purpose ont color="#FF0000">ofont> this research is to find out ont color="#FF0000">theont> significance difference in reading comprehension between male students who are taught using ont color="#FF0000">instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">conversationont> and without it. This research was conducted in SMK Daruttaqwa. This research started during November, 2016. ont color="#FF0000">Theont> students learnt report text and procedure text which were ont color="#FF0000">theont> reading text for ont color="#FF0000">theont> first semester in SMK Daruttaqwa. ont color="#FF0000">Theont> subject ont color="#FF0000">ofont> this research was students in ont color="#FF0000">theont> eleventh grade ont color="#FF0000">ofont> SMK Daruttaqwa especially in ont color="#FF0000">theont> eleventh grade ont color="#FF0000">ofont> XI TMA and XI TMB. ont color="#FF0000">Theont>re are two groups named experimental group and control group. ont color="#FF0000">Theont> data was collected through pre-test and post-test in both groups.
ont color="#FF0000">Theont> post-test mean result showed that experimental group was higher than control group. ont color="#FF0000">Theont> post-test score mean ont color="#FF0000">ofont> ont color="#FF0000">theont> experimental group was 77.8947 while control group was 73.0556. ont color="#FF0000">Theont> result ont color="#FF0000">ofont> this study showed that probability value ont color="#FF0000">ofont> both groups was 0.002. It means that ont color="#FF0000">theont> probability value was lower than ont color="#FF0000">theont> level ont color="#FF0000">ofont> significance 0.05 (0.002<0.005). This result implied that ont color="#FF0000">theont> experimental group and control group were different in ont color="#FF0000">theont>ir ability after giving a treatment. It can be concluded ont color="#FF0000">theont> research conclusion (RC) is: ont color="#FF0000">Theont>re is enough evidence to say that ont color="#FF0000">theont> ability in reading comprehension between experimental and control group are significantly different in ont color="#FF0000">theont> 5% level.
Based on what have been stated above, ont color="#FF0000">theont> researcher found that ont color="#FF0000">theont>re was significant difference in reading comprehension between ont color="#FF0000">theont> students who were taught using ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">conversationont> and who were taught using Oral Reading. Besides that, ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont> could increase ont color="#FF0000">theont>ir confidence in speaking. Even ont color="#FF0000">theont>y did not use English a hundred percent ont color="#FF0000">theont>y could be mix English and Bahasa. Oont color="#FF0000">theont>r ont color="#FF0000">effectont> is increasing ont color="#FF0000">theont>ir critical thinking because in discussion, ont color="#FF0000">theont>y must have a reason for ont color="#FF0000">theont>ir opinion. That was why ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont> motivated male students in comprehending ont color="#FF0000">theont> text.
Having known from ont color="#FF0000">theont> finding ont color="#FF0000">ofont> ont color="#FF0000">theont> study, it was indicated that ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont> significantly influence reading comprehension ont color="#FF0000">ofont> male students at SMK Daruttaqwa. For ont color="#FF0000">theont> next researcher, ont color="#FF0000">theont> researcher expected to do furont color="#FF0000">theont>r research about ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont>. ont color="#FF0000">Theont> next researcher can use ont color="#FF0000">Instructionalont> ont color="#FF0000">Conversationont> on both female and male students with ont color="#FF0000">theont> same skill or different skill and field. ont color="#FF0000">Theont>n, giving ont color="#FF0000">theont> test which ont color="#FF0000">theont> items contain ont color="#FF0000">ofont> critical thinking.
